How to Keep Skunks Away

If you have seen skunks in your yard or smelled them at night, you need to learn how to keep skunks away from your home and yard. If you have pets, it is especially important that you take all of the possible steps to keep them away. Skunks are nocturnal and start to make their rounds in the early evening. Make sure that anything that might possibly interest a skunk is put away and out of reach before then.

 How to Keep Skunks Away

It is often thought that skunks eat flowers and other things in your garden. Actually, when skunks are found or seen in your garden they are likely to be after grubs or other bugs.

Some things that do attract skunks are:

How to Keep Skunks Away

* Pet food. Make sure that all pet food and water is picked up.

* Trash. All trash cans should close tightly.

* Fruit. Skunks like to eat fruit that has fallen from trees.

* Compost piles. If you are having a problem with skunks, it may be best to make compost in a bin.

* Hiding places. This includes wood piles, front porches with an opening, etc.

If you keep all of these factors out of your yard, it should significantly reduce your skunk population. They will surely find someone else’s yard more appealing.

Skunks are believed to be repelled by the smell of mothballs. If you do use mothballs, keep them away from dogs and children. They are dangerous. One option is to put the mothballs in a can and cover it. Put holes in the lid and only put it out at night. Be sure it is in a very safe place away from kids and dogs at all times.

Another option is to trap the skunks. This is not a desirable option for obvious reasons. If you do use this option, make sure that it is legal in your area. You may want to consider using professionals for this.

Maintaining a yard that is free from things that would attract a skunk seems to be the best defense in your effort to keep skunks away.

Live Plants Flowers

Fooling around as passengers in a moving car (back seat while a friend drives, discreetly in a taxi, in a limousine with a privacy screen).
In a parked car during a romantic or exciting event (watching fireworks, admiring a sunrise/sunset, sheltering from a thunderous rain storm).
In a honeymoon suite but not during your Honeymoon. Elegant and fancy or themed for fun, recreate your honeymoon or practice what it would be like.
In a seedy motel. Arrive separately and roleplay an office coworker affair or a prostitute fantasy.
In a high class hotel suite with a panoramic window view — keep the curtains open if you dare.
In a room with at least one hundred candles casting a soft glowing light over your naked bodies while you enjoy sensual pleasuring.
Frosty fornication in a snow fort or igloo you made together is great fun. You can even fashion a special mound to mount on.
On a boat in the open air (not below deck). Consider a canoe, row boat or rubber raft if you don’t have access to a yacht, sail or speed boat with a large deck.
Slick with massage oil wresting on a plastic sheet or in a blowup pool.
In the shower enjoying the sensual, slippery suds and a hand held water massager. Intimate bathing and bonding or hot steamy sex — what ever suits your mood.
In an English garden surrounded by fragrant blossoms. Make it more fun by dressing elegantly and indulge in a sense of aristocratic debauchery.
In a gazebo under the stars, moonlight or noon day sun. Semi outdoor sex as secluded as you dare.
On a king size water bed fitted with satin sheets and lots of fluffy pillows.
In a cool, fast moving stream or small creek. A swirling pool under a water fall is an amazing location if you can find one.
On a swing strong enough for two. Actually swinging together with penetration is tricky, however there are many other fun activities you can do involving a swing.
In a hammock between two palm trees on a secluded ocean front beach.
In a lookout tower or observatory. Finding one that provides a scenic view and opportune privacy will be its own adventure.
Rear entry on a bridge while overlooking the depth below. Even more intense on a swaying rope bridge for added adrenaline rush.
In the stairwell of an apartment or office building — better exercise than taking the elevator. (or on the stairs in you own house)
On the top of a large hill or small mountain under the stars or full moon. Take in the view with a bottle of wine then enjoy each other.
On a train. Either in a rare, vacant car or a private cabin, “playing on the tracks” is a temptation to be tried.
In a van, the back of a pickup truck or on the hood of a sports car.
While skinny dipping at night in a pool, river, lake or ocean. Note that cool water tends to make some bits firmer while others shrink.
In a bath, hot tub or spa. Soak, soothe and sensually stroking each other or stimulate wet and wild sex with invigorating water jets.
On a roof. Outside on the flat top of tall building or (carefully) on a low, slightly sloped roof can be thrilling.
In a field of tall grass or flowers. A secluded, lush green meadow next to a small stream is ideal.
Under a cherry, apple or other fruit tree in full bloom. Enjoy the sensual sights, sounds and smells of Spring whenever you can.
On a pile of pillows. An assortment of shapes, sizes, colors and textures all piled for pleasure. Have a playful pillow fight. Try new positions.
In a barn. A horse stable may bring out the animal in you. The hayloft (on soft straw) can be extremely fun. Roleplay cowboy, stable hand or farmer’s daughter.
Deep in a forest up against a large tree. Agile couples can even try various positions in the tree if the branches are just right.
Outside in the refreshing, cool rain during a hot day or night. Thunder and lightning add to the thrill.
Safely under a sheet metal roof during a hail storm or torrential down pour.
Anywhere under the hot sun with an ice dildo. Make one by freezing a plastic water/pop bottle filled with water and cutting the plastic off.
In a sleeping bag in the open air under a clear sky bright with stars. Go as far away from city lights as possible. Aurora lights will make it even more special.
On a tiny island. Revel in quiet seclusion or spice it up with roleplay. Pretend to be castaways or, for a historic setting, a scout meeting a native first time.
On a beach on the hot, dry sand or right on the shore with the waves lapping up around you. Anywhere you can see and hear huge crashing waves.
In the middle of a sports field or stadium (golf course, soccer, football, rugby, race track, etc.). Most likely best during off season or at night.
In a cave, tunnel or under a bridge. The echoes of your ecstasy or the sounds of traffic overhead can be exciting.
On a trampoline or blowup bouncer. Standing intercourse while jumping may be tricky. An exercise ball will give a similar bouncy feeling for other positions.
In a small clothes or coat closet with the doors closed so it is completely dark. Will someone open it and catch you in the act? Fun at parties.
On a billiard table as a forfeit for losing a few games of Dirty Pool or Six Nine Ball.
On a fur rug/coat in front of a warm, glowing fireplace at night.
In every room of your home and your lover’s home if you live separately.
Creatively on or using stable pieces of furniture. On the kitchen counter, dining table, sofa, foot stool, etc. On the floor and up against the wall too.
In front of a mirror or beneath one attached to the ceiling. Get a revealing new perspective of your love making from new angles.
In front of a tripod mounted video camera or webcam. Record for later, view live or stream to an internet audience if you are an exhibitionist.
In a small log cabin, thatch hut, mud hut or teepee. Include the possibility when planning vacations.
In a garage, boat house or storage shed. Surreptitiously meet while others are outside unaware of your naughty behavior.
In a tree house or fort (either a chance discovery, your own or a neighbors). Pretend you are teenagers fooling around for the first time.
Next to an open fire while camping. A roaring fire stimulates passion while softly glowing embers at night instill romance and intimacy.
On or against a clothes washing machine especially during the spin cycle.
At a sex club or fetish party in a private cubicle or on display for others to see.
On exercise equipment at a private gym. You will definitely enjoy your workout.
In a dark corner of a dance club with a pulsing, pounding beat to grind to. A skirt and no panties/underwear makes this a much easier to perform.
In a parking lot between parked cars/vans. Try underground and above ground parking lots but take care for security systems and surveillance cameras.
Snuggling together in a sleeping bag in a small tent. Weather conditions, wilderness sounds or scary stories can set the mood.
On a designated border line between two countries, states or provinces — one person in each territory engaging in diplomatic relations.
In or near a cemetery at midnight during a full moon if you dare. Standing sex will have both your legs shaking with the thrill.
In a public restroom, change room or even a friends bathroom. Novelty and the risk of getting caught coming out together make this exciting.
On a plush lawn at night or early morning while it is still wet with dew.
In a theatre during an arousing show or to make it more interesting. Remember to bring some wet wipes to clean your fingers.
In a pile of fallen leaves or freshly cut grass.
In a bed covered with rose petals or lots of money.
On a private patio, porch or deck (poolside even better). A sturdy lawn chair or table, air mattress or a few seat cushions may come in handy.
In an elevator (late at night on a weekday might be a good time and dress for a quickie).
At a costume party. Dress the part for a sexy roleplaying scenario. Flirt and play act until you can secretly meet to fulfill your fantasy.
Out on a high rise apartment balcony or next to a large window near the top floor. Try standing rear entry while looking down below.
In a private adult playroom stocked with a wide variety of pleasuring implements. Bondage devices, costumes, toys and other playthings will whet your desire.
Inside a walk in vault (it has happened but tends to require an employee or owner to facilitate). A walk in fridge or supply room is a quick alternative.

Tips on Fiber Optic Christmas Trees

Many people are not aware of what a Fiber Optic Christmas tree is exactly, or what this type of tree can add to your holiday decorating theme this year for Christmas.

Tips on Fiber Optic Christmas Trees

A Fiber Optic Christmas tree has strands of pure glass or see through plastic tube surrounded by a reflective coating. Light can go into one end of the strand and for long distances through each strand to the end where it shines into the room.

Live Plants Flowers

The result is a spectacular light show of any color imaginable that change on a color wheel. The use of fiber optics for Christmas trees is a great idea in its inventive applications using this form of light display for many reasons.

An artificial tree can change your household Christmas decorating theme into a fabulously attractive display of twinkling lights that changes the shade from one color into a more dazzling array of other colors. In addition you can add a new type of Christmas tree you can decorate the front of your home’s entrances with smaller LED Fiber-Optic Tree.

LED trees or as they come straight to your door ready to install and enjoy. You an also order this type of tree all decorated or add your own assortment of decorations to complete the look your personalized Fiber Optic Christmas Tree.

You can add garlands of flowers, ribbons, shells or candy to the mix and have an adorably attractive Christmas Tree. Or you may chose to leave the Tree as is, and concentrate on decorating other parts of the living room or get another tree for another room as well.

This style of tree does not give out heat, only light so they are a must for fire safety. The LED lights provide a 200,000 lifetime span of hours of pure enjoyment of your special holiday display. That works out to about 20 Christmas years of life out of your one purchase so it is more economical and energy efficient than other types or natural trees.

You can cover your tree with cotton strands to simulate snow, or decorated with glass ornaments as there is no heat given off therefore no fear of fire hazards. If you pick up any old tree at any old store you will be setting for less and you will get less for your money as they quality is just not present.

A smart and wise investment is a LED fiber Optic Christmas Tree because they are very energy efficient using ten times less in energy that the average Christmas bulbs. Fiber optic Christmas Trees last up to 20 years and therefore are more economical than other trees.

This type of tree is also very safe since they produce no heat there is no danger of catching fire like a real tree can as it dries out in your living room.

The Fiber Optic type of Christmas tree is virtually indestructible and the bulbs are not connected to each other – if one bulb burns out it does not affect the whole tree. Fiber optic Christmas Trees come in 4, 5 feet tall for apartments, bedrooms spare rooms, or condo apartments. The larger trees range from 5 feet or up to 10 feet tall in green, white or frosted colors.

The most magnificent White Fiber Optic Tree I have seen is a Pre Lit Artificial Tree, with L.E.D. circuit technology and has over 9,900 optic light tips for a dazzling display. The Fiber optic Tree with the easy set up in minutes, can be the most beautiful acquisition for any style of home.

There are no motors of fans or color wheels needed with this Christmas Tree and no need of halogen bulbs that require a fan to cool them off. The tree has reinforced branches for extra strength if you wished to add decorations and more ornaments.

In summary the benefits of a Fiber Optic Christmas Tree are many and the savings on energy are enormous as well. If your in the market for a new tree this year you should look at this type of tree and it will be the most spectacular Christmas decoration of your home.

History Of Olive Trees

Olive trees, ‘Olea europaea,’ are the oldest fruit trees and certainly are one of the most important fruit trees in history. Olive tree culture has been closely connected to the rise and fall of Mediterranean empires and other advanced civilizations throughout the ages. Because olive trees offered wealth and future food supplies to established civilizations, the agricultural nations became stable societies, resulting from a secure expectation from past experience of an uninterrupted food and olive oil supply. This factor was a necessary requirement for population growth and increase. Dependable fruit production and olive oil production means that olive trees must exist in a stable society and a peaceful environment. That stability must extend for many years, since most ancient seedling olive trees required eight or more years before ever producing the first crop of fruit.

 History Of Olive Trees

Productive orchards of olive trees meant that a foundation of the great empires of Greece and Rome had arisen and developed into complex economic and political forces. It is interesting to note that the historical decline of these empires corresponded to the destruction of their olive tree orchards that reduced the available supplies of olives, olive oil, olive wood, and olive soap. In connection with the destruction of olive orchards, it is interesting to note that in the Israeli wars with Palestine, 50,000 olive trees were destroyed by Israeli bulldozers. That act of agricultural destruction resulted in considerable anger and unrest along the Gaza strip and the West Bank, because the economic livelihood of many Palestinian farmers depended on their products from the uprooted olive trees. Additionally, the olive tree was historically a ‘peace and goodwill’ symbol, and when the olive trees were leveled near the city of Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus and the “Cradle of Biblical History,” that elimination of olive trees seemed like a deliberate provocation to end the ‘peace’ with the Palestinian settlers and farmers.

Live Plants Flowers

Medical properties of olive oil were reported by many ancient Greek writers and philosophers, their importance in creating nutritional benefits and wealth for Greek citizens continues abundantly today–some Greek olive tree orchards containing a million or more trees. Aristotle wrote extensively about the accepted methods of successfully growing olive trees.

History Of Olive Trees

Greek mythology records that Athena, the Goddess of wisdom and peace, struck her magic spear into the Earth, and it turned into an olive tree, thus, the location where the olive tree appeared and grew was named Athens, Greece, in honor of the Goddess, Athena. Local legend tells us that the original olive tree still stands growing after many centuries at the ancient sacred site. Citizens still claim that all Greek olive trees originated from rooted cuttings that were grown from that original olive tree. Homer claimed in his writings that the ancient olive tree growing in Athens was already 10,000 years old. Homer stated that Greek courts sentenced people to death if they destroyed an olive tree. In 775 BC Olympia, Greece, at the site of the ancient Olympic stadium, athletes competed and trained, and winners were triumphantly acclaimed and crowned with a wreath made of olive twigs. Ancient gold coins that were minted in Athens depicted the face of the Goddess, Athena, wearing an olive leaf wreath on her helmet holding a clay vessel of olive oil. The Greeks began olive cultivation in 700 BC.

The sacred lamp that was used in ancient Greek culture for lighting dark rooms at night was fueled by olive oil. Aged olive oil was also used in sacred anointing rituals of the church at weddings and at baptisms. Herodotus wrote in 500 BC, that the growing and exporting of olives and olive oil were so sacred that only virgins and eunuchs were allowed to cultivate orchards of olive trees. The first documented plantings of olive trees may have occurred during the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete and are believed to have been growing around 3500 BC. That civilization predates the discovered Mycenae olive fossils from 1600 BC and later in the Greek empire. Sturt Manning, an archeologist from Cornell University, reported in Live Science Magazine (Apr 28, 2005) that the most devastating volcano in 10,000 years occurred on the Greek Island of Thera, after which the city of Akrotiri was totally buried by the falling ash. The finding of olive wood and olive seed fossils buried near the site has shown through carbon dating that the volcanic eruption occurred between 1660 and 1600 BC and may have contributed to the total destruction of the advanced Minoan civilization (Atlantis) on the isle of Crete and may have led to the formation of the Sahara desert in North Africa after vaporizing the native forests there.

The fragrant flowers of olive trees are small and creamy white, hidden within the thick leaves. Some cultivars will self pollinate, but others will not. The blossoms usually begin appearing in April and can continue for many months. A wild, seedling olive tree normally begins to flower and produce fruit at the age of 8 years. The fruit of the olive tree is a purplish-black when completely ripe, but a few cultivars are green when ripe and some olives turn a color of copper-brown. The size of the olive fruit is variable, even on the same tree, and the shape ranges from round to oval with pointed ends. Some olives can be eaten fresh after sun-drying and the taste is sweet, but most olive cultivars are bitter and must be treated by various chemical solutions before developing into edible olives. If the olives are thinned on the limbs of the trees to 2 or 3 per twig, the ultimate size of the olives will be much larger. The fruit is gathered in mid October and should be processed as soon as possible to prevent fermentation and a decline in quality.

The leaves of olive trees are gray-green and are replaced at 2-3 year intervals during the spring after new growth appears. Pruning yearly and severely is very important to insure continued production. The trees have the unproductive limbs removed, “so that it will be more fruitful” John 15:2. An olive tree can grow to 50 feet with a limb spread of 30 feet, but most growers will keep the tree pruned to 20 feet to assure maximum production. New sprouts and trees will emerge from the olive tree stump roots, even if the trees are cut down. Some olive trees are believed to be over a thousand years old, and most will live to the ripe old age of 500 years.

Olives generally are beaten off trees with poles, harvested mechanically or by shaking the fruit from the trees onto canvas. Most ripening olives are removed from the trees after the majority of the fruit begins to change in color. It is important to squeeze out the olive oil within a day after harvesting or else fermentation or decline in flavor and quality will occur. The olive oil can be consumed or used in cooking immediately after its collection from the press. Olive oils are unique and distinct, each brand of olive oil having its own character, as determined by many factors, like those unique flavor differences found in fine wines. Prepared commercial olive oils can vary greatly in aroma, fruit flavor; whether the taste is, flowery, nutty, delicate, or mild, and the coloring of olive oil is quite variable.

Olive oil produces many health benefits when used in cooking or when poured over salads. The use of olive oil can improve digestion and can benefit heart metabolism through its low content of cholesterol. Experts claim that olive oil consumption will cause a person to grow shiny hair, prevent dandruff, prevent wrinkles, prevent dry skin and acne, strengthen nails, stop muscle aching, lower blood pressure and cancel out the effects of alcohol.

Olive trees can survive droughts and strong winds, and they grow well on well drained soils up to a pH of 8.5 and the trees can tolerate salt water conditions. In Europe, olive trees are normally fertilized every other year with an organic fertilizer. Alternate bearing can be avoided by heavy pruning and generally the trees respond to this very quickly and favorably.

Olive trees should be purchased that have been vegetatively propagated or grafted, because the seed grown trees will revert to a wild type that yields small olives with an insipid taste. Olive trees are more resistant to diseases and insects than any other fruit tree and, therefore, are sprayed less than any other crop.

Even though commercial production of olives in the United States is only 2% of the world market, great interest in growing olives throughout the South has been stimulated by the recent introduction of promising cold hardy olive trees from European hybridizers. Many European immigrants to the United States grow their own olive trees in large pots, that can be moved in and out of the house during seasonal changes.

Rustic country decor and how to decorate cottage style homes are extensions of American country style decorating. In addition, traditions are borrowed from French, English and some Swedish country looks. Rustic Country Decor How to Decorate Cottage Style Homes

Floors in rustic country decor and cottage style homes are made with stone or wood materials. Wooden floors were traditionally constructed with boards that were bare and simply waxed and hand-polished (high-gloss varnishes did not exist). Sometimes the boards were painted with light colors. If you like floor coverings, use oriental rugs and throws for visual warmth and color. Rustic country decor is about handcrafted objects, simplicity, furnishings that you enjoy and connecting back to nature.

Live Plants Flowers

Rustic cottage furniture is commonly made with pine and perhaps painted with hand-painted designs such as flowers, birds, animals, country scenery or leaves. Use ladderback chairs, rocking chairs, benches, wicker furniture and Windsor chairs. A large rectangular table made of pine is a good option for your kitchen or dining room table. To give your furniture a rustic look, brush a coat of paint on the furniture piece, then rub most of the paint off. After it dries, apply wood stain unevenly for an older weathered appearance. It will be perfect and rustic looking!

Kitchen pots should be made of copper, steel or cast iron — cookware tends to be large and plain. Use open shelving in the rustic country kitchen to display plates, dishes and dinnerware collections. Natural woods, light colors and bright fabrics work great for window treatments. Adding a rustic butcher block island creates a wonderful visual effect as well as provides useful functionality.

A rustic country decor bathroom has neutral tones or soft colored walls, antique-looking lighting, and wooden antiques or antique reproduction cabinets and vanity. Cell Phone Towers and Mobile Phone Masts – Beacons of Harm

Is it a cactus? A palm tree? A water tower? No! It’s a cell phone tower! That’s right! Cell phone towers today are being disguised in subtle ways unheard of just a few years ago. See a grain silo? Or a church steeple? You guessed it. It could very well be a cell phone tower. There’s even a cell phone tower that looks just like a lighthouse…never mind that it’s over two miles from the ocean.

Cell Phone Towers and Mobile Phone Masts Beacons of Harm

But don’t let the pretty and ingenious disguises fool you. There is a real and present danger lurking behind the mask of these innocent designs.

Live Plants Flowers

Why the disguises? Obviously, for aesthetic reasons. The cell phone companies don’t want to make their neighborhood friends upset. They want to blend in. So they blend in while they blast your home and neighborhood with toxic electromagnetic radiation.

Cell Phone Towers and Mobile Phone Masts – Beacons of Harm

Cell phone towers, sometimes called masts, or mobile phone towers, weren’t an issue years ago when they were few and far between. One could often drive miles and miles through the countryside and never see one. They were few in number and were only found in obscure locations and seen only on an occasional hilltop. Today cell phone towers have increased dramatically in number. There are now more than 1.9 million cell phone towers and antenna towers spread throughout the U.S. They are now found on churches, schools and firehouses as well as being seen on the rooftop of buildings everywhere. Did you know there is even a cell phone tower near Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park? Can’t sleep well at night? It may be that there’s a cell phone tower close by.

Just why would a mobile phone tower be placed on a church, school or firehouse? Why would school boards and churches agree to this? Money. It’s that simple. The mobile phone companies will pay these organizations, and individual property owners, handsomely to install their equipment on their properties. This “rent money” can range from a few hundred dollars a month to several thousand dollars a month. What school district or church couldn’t use extra money to aid a struggling budget? By “renting” the space on an already-constructed building the cell phone industry doesn’t have to purchase land, build a tower or construct a new building. It simply mounts its equipment on a structure that already exists. It’s a win-win deal for the cell phone company and the new ‘landlord.’

Opposition to these cell tower installments used to gone unnoticed and without question. Not so today. Neighborhoods and citizens are becoming vocally opposed. But it’s not the esthetics that causes residents and property owners to oppose these structures. Communities and citizens are afraid of the potential health effects being caused by this technology as well as the adverse affect on property values.

We Can’t Stop Cell Phone Tower Construction

Unfortunately, there isn’t much one can do to stop the proliferation and continued build out of cell phone towers and structures. Although thought to be legislation about deregulation issues, the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (TCA) was really an open invitation for the cell phone industry to place their towers anywhere they wanted. Section 704 of the TCA basically states that local authorities can’t ban the placement of towers in their jurisdictions. The law says: “No State or local government or instrumentality thereof may regulate the placement, construction, and modification of personal wireless service facilities on the basis of the environmental effects of radio frequency emissions to the extent that such facilities comply with the Commission’s regulations concerning such emissions.” So legally the local government can’t refuse the construction of a cell phone tower in your neighborhood! Any challenge by local communities could easily end up in federal court. Our lawmakers have basically given the cell phone industry free reign to install these towers wherever they want. And, by the way, the cell phone industry helped write this legislation that our government officials passed as law! The public, therefore, now has no voice and no vote. Is there something wrong with this picture? Why didn’t our public officials represent the people instead of big business? Why would you let the very industry you’re trying to regulate write it’s own laws?

Does the income outweigh the potential risks? It appears not. Scores of studies and well-respected research have exposed alarming health effects from various forms of cancer to stress. Many experts today are predicting an epidemic in brain cancer soon.

Representatives from the industry are quick to point out the microwaves emitted by cell phone towers are well below federal standards. And indeed they may be. At least on paper. Most towers operate at a power output of 100 watts. However, this isn’t the total wattage of the tower. What they aren’t telling you is that 100 watts is the power per channel. Since one tower may have dozens of channels you can see that the power output could be highly excessive and well beyond 100 watts. It’s a technical loophole. And, of course, who is monitoring the power output from these towers after they are erected? The FCC certainly isn’t. It doesn’t have the manpower or money to properly regulate the millions of towers and antennas now online. And who is to prevent these companies from turning up the wattage when no one is around? Some have reported that many of these towers have already shown power outputs in the 900 to 1000 watt range.

You Can’t Escape The Radiation. It’s Everywhere.

We simply can’t escape the exposure to this radiation. It’s everywhere. There are so many people using cell phones and wireless connections today that you don’t even have to own a cell phone to be exposed. You’re just as exposed as everyone else. Every time someone makes a call from a mobile phone the signal is sent to a cell phone tower. There are so many calls being made by everyone all around us and now there are so many mobile phone towers in operation, that all of us are caught in the crossfire. It’s like second-hand smoke from cigarettes, except that we can’t get away from it. There simply isn’t anywhere to escape.

How Mobile Phone Towers Work

Cell phone towers emit signals in a “flower petal” pattern around the tower. This 360-degree radius around the tower is called a “cell” and this is what the term “cell” in cell phone means. When your phone is in a “cell” you get good reception and when it isn’t in a?”cell” you get poor reception. So, for a cell phone company to provide complete coverage cell phone towers and antenna towers must be positioned all across the country so that the “cells” overlap. You can begin to see what a huge infrastructure needs to be created to provide complete cell phone coverage. That’s why cell phone towers and antenna towers are so prevalent. Furthermore, that’s why these antennas are installed in so many places like rooftops, fire stations, schools and churches. This is what is necessary for complete coverage.

Studies Show Adverse Health Effects From Cell Phone Towers

If you aren’t sure that cell phone towers and masts are harmful the following study summaries should convince you. Below are listed six studies that have shown significant adverse health effects on people living near cell phone towers. According to Dr. Grahame Blackwell “these are the only studies known that specifically consider the effects of masts on people. All six studies show clear and significant ill-health effects. There are no known studies relating to health effects of masts that do not show such ill-health effects.”

Santini et al. found significant health problems in people living within 300 meters of a cell phone base station or tower. The recommendation was made from the study that cell phone base stations should not be placed closer than 300 meters to populated areas. Pathol Biol (Paris) 2002; 50: 369-373.
A Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research study entitled, “Effects of Global Communications System Radio-Frequency Fields On Well Being and Cognitive Function of Human Subjects With and Without Subjective Complaints” found significant effects on well being including headaches, muscle fatigue, pain, and dizziness from tower emissions well below the “safety” level.
Gerd, Enrique, Manuel, Ceferino and Claludio conducted a Spanish study called “The Microwave Syndrome” and found adverse health effects from those living near two cell phone base stations. The health effects included fatigue, a tendency toward depression, sleeping disorders, difficulty in concentration and cardiovascular problems.
From an Israeli study published in the International Journal of Cancer Prevention, Vol. 1, No. 2, April 2004, Wolf and Wolf reported a fourfold increase in the incidence of cancer in people living within 350 meters of a cell phone tower as compared to the Israeli general population. They also reported a tenfold increase specifically among women.
In the Naila Study from Germany, November 2004, five medical doctors collaborated to assess the risk to people living near a cell phone tower. The retrospective study was taken from patient case histories between 1994 and 2004 from those who had lived during the past ten years at a distance up to 400 meters from the tower site. The results showed that the proportion of newly developed cancer cases was significantly higher in those patients living within the 400-meter distance and that the patients became ill on average eight years earlier. In the years 1999 to 2004, after five years of operation of the transmitting tower, the relative risk of getting cancer had trebled for residents of the area in the proximity of the installation compared to the inhabitants of Naila outside the area.
An Austrian Study released in May 2005, showed that radiation from a cell phone tower at a distance of 80 meters causes significant changes of the electrical currents in the brains of test subjects. All test subjects indicated they felt unwell during the radiation and some reported being seriously ill. According to the scientists doing the study, this is the first worldwide proof of significant changes of the electrical currents in the brain, as measured by EEG, by a cell phone base station at a distance of 80 meters. Subjects reported symptoms such as buzzing in the head, tinnitus, palpitations of the heart, lightheadedness, anxiety, shortness of breath, nervousness, agitation, headache, heat sensation and depression. According to scientists this is the first proof that electrical circuits in the brain are significantly affected by a cell phone tower. The distance in this study was a mere 80 meters.

Two-time Nobel Prize nominee Dr. Gerald Hyland, a physicist, had this to say about mobile phone towers. “Existing safety guidelines for cell phone towers are completely inadequate. Quite justifiably, the public remains skeptical of attempts by governments and industry to reassure them that all is well, particularly given the unethical way in which they often operate symbiotically so as to promote their own vested interests.”

Dr. Bruce Hocking did a study in Syndey, Australia, of children living near TV and FM broadcast towers, which by the way, are very similar to cell phone towers. He found that these children had more than twice the rate of leukemia as children living more than seven miles away from these towers.

Results in yet another recent study conducted on inhabitants living near or under a mobile phone base station antenna yielded the following prevalence of neuropsychiatric complaints: headache (23.5%), memory changes (28.2%), dizziness (18.8%), tremors (9.4%), depressive symptoms (21.7%), and sleep disturbances(23.5%). In this study the participants were given a neurobehavioral test battery measuring such things as problem solving, visuomotor speed, attention andmemory. Symptoms of exposed inhabitants were significantly higher than control groups.

Furthermore, Europe’s top environmental watchdog group, European Environment Agency (EEA), is calling for immediate action to reduce exposure to mobile phone masts. EEA suggests action to reduce exposure immediately to vulnerable groups such as children.

The development of brain tumors in staff members working in a building in Melbourne, Australia, prompted the closing of the top floors of the building. The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology is housed in the building. Seven staff members were diagnosed with brain tumors and five of the seven worked on the top floor. A cell phone antenna is located on the roof of the building.

The Orange phone company in England is being forced to remove its mast tower on a building in Bristol, England. The removal is a result of a five-year effort by residents and local authorities to have the mast removed. Cancer rates in the building, which has become known internationally as the “Tower of Doom,” have soared to ten times the national average for the 110 residents living there. The two masts sitting on the roof, one owned by Orange and the other by Vodafone, were installed in 1994. Vodafone has refused the remove its mast.

Cell Phone Towers Affect Animals

Animals aren’t exempt from exposure the cell phone tower radiation either. One veterinary school in Hanover, Germany, reports that dairy cows kept in close proximity to a cell phone tower for two years had a reduction in milk production in addition to other health problems including abnormal behavior patterns.

Firefighters Vote To Suspend Cell Tower Construction On Fire Stations

Concerned about the effect that masts have on the nation’s firefighters, The International Association of Fire Fighters voted in 2004 to voice its opposition to cell phone towers and antennas being place on and around fire stations. They want proof first that there isn’t a safety issue and have asked for a moratorium on further construction and placement of any more towers or antennas on or around firehouses until such a study can be conducted.

What Are These Antennas Doing To Our Kids While They’re In School?’t worth the risk. They should not be subjected to microwave radiation when science has proven there could clearly be devastating effects as outlined in the previously mentioned studies. School boards and parent organizations need to be aware of the inherent dangers from such an exposure. It’s been clearly shown that microwave radiation penetrates the head of a child much easier than that of an adult. This is due to the thinner and softer bones in the head of child. Skull bones don’t fully harden until about age 22.

How Many Cell Phone Towers Are Near You?

The average person lives within one-half mile of a cell phone tower. Have you ever wondered how close you live or work to one of these towers? Would it bother you if one were right in your backyard? How many of these towers and antennas do you think there are in your immediate area? Find out by visiting the website http://www.antennasearch.com/. Simply type in your address and you’ll get a listing and a map of all the towers and antennas within a short radius of your address. Like most people you’ll probably gasp when you see the numbers. These towers are literally everywhere. Hundreds and hundreds of them are probably located within a few miles of your home or office.

Watch The Signal Bars On Your Cell Phone

The signal bars on your cell phone tell you how strong the signal is that are connecting to your cell phone. In other words, the closer you are to a cell phone tower the stronger the signal. The stronger the signal the less power your phone has to use to maintain the connection. A strong signal is indicated by a full set of “bars” showing on your cell phone display. Fewer bars mean a weaker signal. A weaker signal means the cell phone has to work harder to maintain the signal. Consequently, more power is needed to maintain the connection. The more power needed the greater the amount of radiation produced by your phone and the greater exposure to you. So always try to talk in outdoors or in an open space. This allows an easier connection from your cell phone to the nearest cell phone tower. Your phone won’t have to work as hard and less power is used to maintain the signal, which translates, to less radiation exposure for you.

What Can We Do?

Obviously, can’t escape the exposure. We’ve established that fact. So what can we do to minimize the damage?

Here are few ideas: We need to limit our exposure any way possible. Don’t live near a cell phone tower if you have a choice. Don’t buy a home near one even if the price is right. Limit your use of wireless devices. Go back to ‘wired’ connections whenever possible. Maximize your health through proper nutrition and good hydration. Eat foods high in antioxidants and take supplements. Eat organically as much as possible. There is no safe distance to locate away from a mast tower. Obviously, the closer to the tower the greater the exposure risk so do locate as far away as possible. Whenever possible encourage your local government officials to consider transitioning to the use of fiber optic cable. Most of it has already been laid underground. It’s just not being used. There are no masts with fiber optics and the small amount of radiation at the exits can be neutralized with technology now available. Discourage the use of Wi-Fi in schools by meeting with your school officials and school boards. Wi-Fi hotspots are popping up everywhere now. Even whole cities are going wireless with the installation of Wi-Fi. Again, it’s all done through a wireless signal, which is damaging to your health. Don’t let cell phone companies install cell phone antennas on the roofs of schools where your children attend. The radio waves are disruptive to their ability to focus, not to mention the health hazards we’ve already outlined. If you can’t change your current situation there is some hope. There are some intervention devices now available that you can use in your home, school and office to help lessen the risk of exposure. Some very good cutting-edge technology has been developed that will intervene and help mitigate the damage being done by wireless connections.

If you’d like to discuss those options feel free to get in touch with me.

How to Shave Your Pubic Hair – A Woman’s Guide

If you are reading this article, I will assume that you are a first-timer and have never taken scissors, a razor, an electric shaver or anything else to the fuzz growing between your legs. It may be in a state of complete chaos and you’re wondering how things ever got so out of control…but the important thing is that you’ve taken that first step and decided to shave.

How to Shave Your Pubic Hair A Womans Guide

Before you get started, you may want to take some time to consider the various hair styles and designs you can select when it comes to taking this hair removal plunge. There is so much to cover, we’ve made a completely separate article about it. In the past, it has been common to just trim or pluck the bikini area, go with a basic landing strip pattern or simply shave it all off. But in the 21st century, people are taking a much more creative approach to pubic hair grooming; shaving or waxing intricate patterns into their hair and even coloring it.

Live Plants Flowers

You’ll should gather everything you’ll need in the bathroom (generally the best place to do this task) so you don’t need to stop in the middle of the process to fetch something. I will be focusing on shaving with a personal razor (non-electric) and shaving cream for the majority of this article. I personally use the Gillette Venus Vibrance and find it leaves a very smooth shave. If you want to save a few bucks on razor blades, you don’t need to buy their special Vibrance blades because they are no different than the original Venus ones aside from coloring – but don’t tell Gillette I told you that!

How to Shave Your Pubic Hair – A Woman’s Guide

Now it’s time to get down to business. One of the first things you will want to do is trim down your pubic hair with a pair of clean scissors or an electric razor. (If you’ve shaved before and your pubic hair isn’t very long, you can skip this first step and just start with the main event.) You want your scissors or razor to be clean so you don’t cause yourself any unnecessary risks of infection. When you shave, it is likely that tiny nicks will develop (some of them so tiny you won’t even see them) and if you’re using scissors you were just using to prune flowers in your garden or an electric razor you used on your dog, your chances of a bacterial infection are certainly going to be elevated.

“Trim down” means what it sounds like. The goal is not to remove all your pubic hair in this step but to thin the trees back so you can get an effective shave with your razor later on. Otherwise you will end up cleaning your razor many, many times to keep the blade exposed and may end up snagging hairs which is never pleasant. You may want to do the trimming over the toilet bowl or in your shower, but you will certainly want to collect the hair you trim off somehow. If you are planning to be waxed instead of shaving, your pubic hair should be around one quarter of an inch long but no shorter than one eighth of an inch.

If you haven’t done so already, why not check out your hair situation now in the mirror and see how things are going? You may find that after a trim, you have reached a pubic hair length which you are comfortable with. It’s your hair and if you’re not ready to go completely bare yet, there’s no pressure. But if you are ready to go on, so am I.

It’s now time to get wet and lather up. I prefer to shave in the shower after I’ve washed my hair because it gives the skin a bit of time to warm up and lets the steam of the warm shower soften the skin. You could also take a bath first but should shave at the end when you are ready to drain the water. I also usually put one leg up on the side of the bathtub or on a stool or step in the shower so I have better access to everything.

Cover your pubic hair with shaving oil, jelly or lather to form a layer of lubrication between your skin and the razor. I like to use shaving oil and jelly because I can feel the razor sliding over the skin smoothly, without leaving cuts and nicks. If you are desperate, hair conditioner can also be used but for best results I’d only use it in a real emergency.

You may also want to give some consideration to the type of shaving matter you use and what skin types it is recommended for. My favorite products are Venereous Shaving Oil and Venereous Shaving Jelly from Newf Brand. You can use them together, the jelly layered over the oil, or you can use each of them separately. Using them together just gives you an extra layer of shaving protection against nicks and leaves the skin extra moisturized. Plus neither of these products foam so you can actually see what you’re shaving which is very useful.

Some gels have mint and other ingredients in them which may not be suitable for the sensitive skin in your nether regions. I have not had any adverse reactions using men’s shaving gel versus women’s but I generally select a product for sensitive skin. Some women’s shaving gels state on the label that they are recommended to be used in the bikini zone and generally have a more feminine scent to them.

I usually cover the entire area I am going to shave at the beginning so I don’t need to set the razor down constantly and fiddle with the container of shaving gel. You can always go back and add more shaving oil later, but be careful with some gels and creams because if you leave leave them on too long, you may start to notice a burning sensation on your skin. If that occurs, wash the lather off immediately and give your skin a few moments to recuperate. If you have another shaving lather, you may want to use it for the rest of the process and I would recommend not using the shaving lather which burns you again in the future for this sensitive area.

Now you’re ready to put the blade to your skin. Don’t be scared. If you’ve shaved your legs before, you know that it can take a little time before you are fully comfortable with all the contours of your body. Shaving your mound is no different and each one varies so you may find that these steps don’t work perfectly for you or that a different order is a bit better. I’m just speaking from my personal shaving experience over the last 8 years.

Start with the top of your mound, use one hand to gently pull back the skin so it is tight and, with the razor in the other hand, shave down with the hair growth. I like to start on the sides near the crease of my legs and then work towards the center. After I’ve shaved most of my mound against the hair growth, I then shave against the growth and sometimes from side to side.

In some areas of the body, such as the armpits, hair grows in multiple directions and to get a very close shave, you need to shave in each direction of growth to get every hair at its base. But when first starting out this can increase your chances of razor burn in the end so be sure that you have plenty of lather covering your mound while doing this. Run your fingers over your mound and if it’s smooth, you’re ready to go on.

The lips can be a bit trickier although the outer labia should be similar to shaving your mound. Shaving against the hair growth usually gets most of the hairs although you may have to retrace your stroke one or twice to catch any strays. Try not to go over the skin too many times, though, as this also might cause irritation later on. If you feel the need to shave with the hair growth, be careful because you may end up nicking yourself which is quite uncomfortable.

To shave inside your labia, use your free hand to gently roll the lips open and carefully pull the razor up along the edge of your lip and around the upper ridge to get those little hairs which will really agitate your partner during oral sex if they are missed.

At this stage, you are more or less finished. You may want to reach back and give your anus a quick once over just to be thorough. This is where a second set of hands would come in very handy. In fact, you may want someone to assist you during this entire process but try not to get too carried away or you may end up with a lot more cuts than you expected.

Once you get out of the shower or the tub, you may want to use a moisturizer such as Venereous Mountain Mist to help prevent irritated skin and razor burn. Try to avoid excessively touching the area for a few hours as that may also cause irritated skin.

If you decide you love the feeling of your smoothly shaved mound, maintaining this style is simple. You will probably only want to shave every few days at first until your skin gets used to this constant new attention. If you do decide to start shaving daily right from the start, your skin may be more sensitive and irritated for the first few days that you continue this process. But as it adjusts, any discomfort and elevated levels of irritation usually subside.

Although shaving can be a bit tricky and it does take a bit of getting used to, most women love the results – and so do their partners! If you’re doing this just for someone else, don’t forget to let them know that you did go to some trouble and would really appreciate if they went out of their way to clear the forest too (if they aren’t already)!

Fourth Grade Science Fair Projects

Fourth grade students are very energetic and their span of attention or concentration is very small. Above that, they want to observe, infer, predict and classify anything taught on science. Learning by doing is a good concept and it registers in their young minds and they can never go wrong in their examinations. For this, a lot of schools conduct fourth grade science fair. Here, all the fourth grade science fair projects will be displayed.

 Fourth Grade Science Fair Projects

The children explain their fourth grade science fair projects, while the others watch these projects and learn. Teaching them in a play way method is very effective. Here are few fourth grade science fair projects for this age group.

Live Plants Flowers

Salt increases the density of water. Add four to five tablespoons of salt in a glass of water stir it nicely and float an egg. Also add little more luke-warm fresh water and check, the egg will float in-between the salt and the water. Try using sugar or flour in the water the egg will sink.

Fourth Grade Science Fair Projects

Which water is good for plants can be made as a project by selecting a pot with some seeds; one pot can be watered with tap water, the other pot to be watered with only rain water. Check the growth for seven weeks; the rain water watered pot is better.

Will plants grow with a liquid other than water can be done in an effective project by selecting four pots, Water the first pot with water, second one with vinegar, third one with orange juice and fourth one with milk. The result is the one with water grows the maximum, the one with vinegar dies as it is an acid, the one with orange juice and milk also grows but nowhere near as much as the pure source.

A fourth grade science fair project to test which environment is best for plants. Take three pots, one with sand, one with soil, and one with gravel and put few seeds in each pot, wet them at regular intervals and make a graph, the seeds in the soil grew the maximum.

Classification of mammals — Mammals are found every where. Polar bears in cold areas, camels in hot areas, moles live under the ground, bats live in caves and flies in the air and dolphins live in oceans. Fur and fat help them to protect themselves in cold regions and they sweat and pant to release their extra heat. A fourth grade science fair project can be made by cutting and pasting picture of mammals and their place of rest.

Sunflower house project: On the ground draw a square and plant sunflower seeds leaving enough space between two seeds all in the perimeter of the square, but don’t forget to leave a little space in the front side for the door. Once the sunflower plants grow one inch, plant bean seeds around each sunflower plant. As they grow the beans will climb up the sunflower stalks and create a wonderful playhouse for the children. In this way they learn the characteristics of creepers, flower plants, trees, shrubs etc.

Excellent features of sunflowers are we can get oil, easy to grow and a good bird feeder, Make a sun and a flower and label its uses.

Life cycle of a butterfly – egg, caterpillar, cocoon and then a beautiful butterfly can be made live in your garden.

A Bird house can be made in wood, to encourage birds to come and live. Observe the birds and their habits.

Instincts can be taught in a project form by showing baby birds open their mouth for food, baby turtles know to go to the sea when their eggs hatch.

Children at this age group should be given simpler fourth grade science fair projects to keep them occupied. Once they are occupied and disciplined, teachers job become easier to make them learn and enjoy schooling.

How to Make a Time-Lapse Video With Your Digital Video Camera

Getting the most out of your digital video camera can mean being able to create some really cool stuff. You just have to step outside the manual a bit and find the cool things you can do with your digital video camera and your editing software.

How to Make a Time Lapse Video With Your Digital Video Camera

We have all seen them in a movie or a TV show, those very cool shots where they speed up time and capture a long segment of time and condense it into a very short amount of video. An example is many of the TV news stations nowadays have a camera that captures the day’s weather and then they process it down to a 20 second clip to show the clouds and weather racing by on screen.

Live Plants Flowers

Well this technique is not just a tool in the hands of the movie makers or the big TV stations. You can do this with your digital video camera gear too. I will go into two ways that you can accomplish this effect and get some cool results for your next video project. This one is worth playing around with in order to find the right settings to get the most dramatic effect.

How to Make a Time-Lapse Video With Your Digital Video Camera

Technique number one is to use the camera itself to do the time lapse recording for you. Almost all digital video cameras have the ability to do an interval recording. What this means in a nutshell is that you tell the camera how long you want to record for and how long in between recordings and it will go on autopilot for you for as long as the battery lasts or the tape runs out. This is what those cameras at the convenience store do, they record a few seconds of motion every 30-60 seconds giving the overall view of the traffic in the store over time.

Now if you want to capture some time lapse in your digital video camera you will need to get into your cameras menu and find Interval Recording (or in my case Int Rec, as I use a Sony PD 150 for my camera) When you select this option you will decide how long of an interval between shots you want and how long to record each time. If you are trying to capture something that takes a long time to occur and in which not much happens quickly you will want to set the interval at around a minute and the record time as short as possible on your camera. An example would be if you wanted to record a day in the life of a flower or the clouds rolling by in the sky. Suppose however that you want to capture an event that has lots of action and occurs over a much shorter time frame. Then you would want to shorten the interval between recordings and increase the time of each recording. So in this case you might record every 15-30 seconds and record up to 2-3 seconds of video each time.

I used this technique to capture an afternoon of work being done by a team of carpenters on my house remodeling project. The result was a flurry of activity as workers raced hither and yon nailing boards, carrying equipment and building walls. I have added it to my photo collection of the project. (Hey I had to live through the project so I might as well have a great record of it for posterity!)

Now suppose you have one of the great software video editing packages on your computer to work with your digital video camera. Now you can do it in post as they say in the business. You can record any length of video you want (subject to the limitations of your tape length) and then import it into your editing program.

Sidebar:

I use Adobe Premiere Pro for my editing jobs, but I have also used Avid DV Express, Final Cut Pro, and others in the non linear editing world. These are all great programs and are very powerful products that can create some very professional looking videos. You don’t have to have these products to create your own videos but if you are serious about digital video editing it might be a good idea to take a look at these options.

I digitize my raw video of the scene I am doing time lapse on into my computer (big hard drive, video eats up GB’s of space) and then import the clip into my time line. From the timeline you can then select the clip with a right click. From there you will be given a menu with options depending on the software you use. Select the option that says “duration”, “speed” or something similar. Change the speed of the clip so that time will speed up considerably. If you have an hour of video in the clip and want to shorten it to 2 -5 minutes then you need to increase the speed of the clip to 3 or 4 thousand percent of normal. This will require your software to render the clip at the higher speed and may take some time top process depending on the speed of your computer.

Once you have rendered the video clip at the new speed you will want to play it to see if the movie flows evenly or if you will want to readjust the speed setting to make it better. Sometimes you may want to shorten your raw video and adjust the speed down somewhat in order to get a smooth flow of action. Once you have rendered the clip at the new speed you can now cut and splice it as you see fit with the speeded up action intact. There are some things you will record that might only need a slight speed change, take for instance some digital video of your kids playing sports. Double or triple the speed of the clip and show it to them and you might have them rolling on the floor.

You can also use these techniques to capture the growth of a flower or plant over the course of days or weeks. Simply set you camera in exactly the same place at the same time each day and record an interval that works each day fro however long you want to document. May be you get the seedling just breaking soil and follow it all the way through turning into a full grown plant.

Another interesting idea is to capture the path of the moon across the night sky. Set up your camera on a tripod in a spot that can see the path of the moon for several hours. Set the camera to interval record and put the moon on one side of the frame so that it will pass across the frame as the night passes. This one may require some testing in order to get the exposure and framing right as well as the right interval to record at. Most likely you would want to set the interval as long as you can and the record time as short as you can but do a test run first to see what works.
